Andrew,
The measurement is from the hole in the short arm of the bellcrank that the
rod-end attaches to. The 92 mm subtracted is to allow for the lengths of the
rod-ends and inserts. And yes, you really need to make the hole for the link
rod in the root end of the close out, and in the leading edge of the
aileron root flange, before you can easily make the measurement.
