Europa-List: 912S Engine Pre Run Check list

Hi Guys,
Just been Ticking Off the engine Pre run Ckecklist and one of the Checks asks 
(with
ref. to the carbs.) "fuel inlet banjos are correctly orientated" , they face
downwards and aft as supplied by Rotax ,they need to be pointing upwards in
my installation but they would foul the intake rubbers, can anyone throw any
light on the "correct" orientaion?
