To the best of my knowledge, the Floscan company does not manufacture,
sell, or endorse
any of its turbine flow sensors for aviation use. They will disavow any
such use in a
court of law. I have seen them say so in print. Check their web site - it
is solely marine.
Try calling them and asking for an "aviation" sensor and see what happens!
Nonetheless Shadin and all the other aviation companies use Floscan
sensors because they are
the best characterized and stable. An exception are the plastic sensors
used in the Strato and Aveo
systems and they are prices at much less than half the Floscans. Caveat
emptor. My guess is that
those aviation companies who use OEM floscans have signed liability
agreements with the company.
