Phil, Well done, but for the sake of anyone not having the frame loose or
the availability of the hydraulic press, I would have been tempted to use a
harder bit of wood and a somewhat bigger hammer, and I think you would have
achieved the same result. It is after all designed to be a very tight fit!

took the frame into work this morning to show some of our guys and
apparently we have a hydraulic press that I didn't know about! It's used
for pressing wheel bearings into wheel rims etc.

the frame into the press and to my amazement the inserts went in. There
wasn't that much pressure or effort required (certainly not enough to damage
the frame) but just a steady constant pressure straight down the tube which
is what I wasn't doing with a hammer in the workshop. I did soak the half
inserted inserts in ACF 50 overnight as well.

and I imagine that I've got an almost watertight fit as well although will
use the ACF 50 too.

done this mod yet. Another '5 minute' job that has the potential to turn
very nasty - especially if the frame is mounted on the aircraft.
