Curious, what clued you into finding out your sock filter/s were clogged? If 
engine
stumbled or quit, did turning on second pump get you on ground with motor
running normal? Is your fuel system parallel fuel pumps or series with bypass?
If you have differential gauge, what did it tell you during episode?
