Hi Richard,
The system has changed in the UK this year. Previously, the CAA notified
owners of any Mandatory Permit Directives or Emergency Permit Directives.
They now just stick them on their website and its up to you to find them!
They do offer an e-mail alerting service but you have to register to get it.
I would recommend everyone in the UK to sign up to this. Go to
http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1443
<http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1443&pagetype=90> &pagetype=90
The LAA "provide a service to their members" to alert them to any MPDs or
Emergency MPDS via the airworthiness alerts page on their website
<http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/engineering.html>
http://www.lightaircraftassociation.co.uk/engineering/engineering.html but
they dont appear to have a legal duty to do this.
I discovered all this because the UK CAA issued an Emergency Mandatory
Permit Directive , MPD No 2009-008 which refers to a batch of fire
extinguishers with contaminated gas in them. The MPD requires all owners to
check their fire extinguisher within two days of the effective date (26
November 2009). I wonder how many UK Europa owners know about this?
The other source for the Rotax 912S is http://www.rotax-owner.com/ This has
a link where you can put your engine serial number in and get all of the SB,
ADs etc applicable to your engine.
You probably knew all of this but it does no harm to repeat it.
Best regards
Brian Davies

Hi Guys.
I have been out of the country for a while and wondered if there have been
any Service Bulletins or Airworthiness Directives in 2009 I need to comply
with, before I can fly my tri gear with 912S again? Can't see anything on
the Europa or Rotax web sites.
