Has anyone in UK fitted an oil-pressure switch to control when an
engine hours meter runs? If so, where did you get it?
A discussion with Skydrive indicates that the obvious place to mount
it is in place of part number 641733, the 10mm x 1mm plug screw which
covers the port on the oil pump that would feed a hydraulic governor.
However, Skydrive are not sure that it will be easy to find an oil
pressure switch with that thread.
I have spotted one on an Australian supplier's website but can't find
anything similar in UK.
It's also important to note that what I want is a "normally-open"
switch - that is the opposite of the usual type which is
"normally-closed" and opens with increasing pressure to extinguish
the oil-pressure warning light.
I'd like to avoid the need to turn up an adaptor for a BSP or NPT
thread switch.
