Europa-List: where to collect air for air instruments

I am considering collecting the air for my air instruments from within the 
instrument
panel molding and adding a row of holes at the top at the bottom of the
windscreen, The plan being to draw air over the windscreen and keep it mist 
free.
Is this normal? or is there some other aspect I should consider?
Its a venturi scheme I am using
