Rick,

I haven't had any problems with my doors but I made the attached auxiliary 
latchs for the doors because it seemed a good idea at the time.
They are made of Tufnol and are 25mm long.  If Neville Eyre is lurking . . 
they are 1" long.

Note that the door part latches over the sill part on the inside face.
