If I have understood an instructor friend correctly, the EASA LAPL  is for life,
with less stringent medical requirements and there is no biennial flight review.
Just 12 hours in your logbook within the preceding X?12?13? months. A bit
like things used to be before the ghastly JAA stuck its oar in.
