One other thing that I forgot to write about was the propeller pitch.  I had 
adjusted
it to what I thought was 18 degrees, but after re-reading the instructions
and checking the pitch I had 20 degrees.  That would cause a lot of heat.
I re-set the prop to 18.2 degrees and will see if that makes a difference.
