It also has a track width of only about 1,20 metres and a wing span of 23 meters
which won't contribute much to ground handling capabilities neither (probably
only slightly better than the U2). The S 10 is pure high tech for the ambitioned
glider pilot (I know of one which only has 20 % engine running time and one
which has sailed >2000 km in the Mountain waves of the Andes), e. g. the
propeller
pitch is changed by applying heat to a bi-metal, the wings are foldable
for improving hangarage etc.
For an average pilot (and average airfield) the trigear S 6 which still has a
glide
ratio of 36 as the retractable version with 18 m wingspan should be enough.
