Fred, My OAT probe is installed inside the air intake of the Rotax cylinder cooling baffle. Pic attached. It works fine in flight, the measured error being less than one degree C. However, during ground operation, the indicated temperature is useless as it is greatly influenced by the engine heat. This works for me.
