Ive got a crimper that appears identical. I got mine from Stein Air in USA
<http://www.steinair.com/storedetail.cfm?productid=291>; I dont think LAS
stocked it at that time. Stein Air also stock the more expensive one
<http://www.steinair.com/storedetail.cfm?productid=300> that needs positioners
for each type of contact; it will also do the high-density contacts that the
cheaper tool above will not.
Opinions vary! Ive found mine satisfactory for standard D-submin contacts, and
I always give the wires a pull after crimping to assure security. I used it on
my Trig transponder connectors. Tim Houlihan (who has mine on loan at present)
is also satisfied with its performance. However, (Dr) David Joyce borrowed mine
a while back and reported that the crimps he made with it did not pass the
pull test, so he borrowed a much more expensive tool from a professional wiring
shop and was much happier with the results.
