I can recommend Speyer (EDRY) 

Excellent Technik Museum  With a 747 0n a pedestal ! on the edge of the
airfield. Even a  U boat Sub. Excellent commercial accommodation on the
Museum Grounds. Great town, easy walk with many pavement type Resteraunts
and classical market place . All you need to know on Google .
