Hi Richard
I did consider packing it out with washers but the newer nut design, with the
integral
flange, does not specify the use of any washers.
I believe the integral flange of the nut is being used to stop the bearing
grease
seal rotating and I was a little concerned that this might not be achieved
with a stack of washers.
The MATCO procedure is to tighten the axle nut until the grease seal does not
rotate,
although Europa specify a torque value of 150 in lbs for the nut in the
build manual.
I will try a stack of washers or a spacer and see what happens.
If I can achieve the stationary grease seal then it is certainly easier than
drilling
the axle.
Thanks for the reply.
