Umm, no sure if l or others have got this wrong. The D10A remote compass is a 'black box' not a card compass. Mine is under the baggage area on the RH side on a custom made plinth. Unfortunately touring with metal in this area tends to give magnetic variation so its not the best place. Fuel cans, folding chairs and such like do have an effect. Apart from the above issue, the location proves acceptable and is easy to maintain.
