Phil,
The clearance relates to the distance between the shank of the bolt and the
outboard
end of the slot in OR5.
When deploying the flaps, they move slightly beyond their resting position to
enable
the down-latch to lock properly before the spring pulls it securely back
into the locked position. If the gap is less than specified there is a danger
that the outriggers wont lock down.
To understand the setup more clearly, go back and have another look at the build
manual CBM 9M 10 (page 10 of chapter 9) and read the paragraph Setting up
the Retraction Mechanism
