Bud, you are not the only one that put linseed oil in the tubes. I did too. 
Plugged
one end, filled then drain. They teach you that in A&P school. Never thought
about the flap cross tube, which I am about to install, collecting water at
that end. I think I will drill a small hole. Seems like a good idea.
