Thanks Ron. Good explanation of the differences and handling.=C2-Luckily,
when I was at the stage, I had greenbelt area going downhill usually with
the prevailing breeze. But I still always wore a good mask.=C2-

Hi Mike
Expancel is plastic micro balloons and Q-Cel is glass micro balloons. Expan
cel is easier on the lungs and sands easier especially if you mix it dry en
ough. With Expancel I start with a thin coating of resin, then wait till it
gets really tacky, then apply Expancel that is so dry that it wouldn't sti
ck to a dry surface. It's just amazing how much more you can add to get to
this point. Then when applying, a heat gun helps things along, I like using
spackle tools. I also like to heat tools as well as Expancel. Best to get
it done in 1 shot, so overfilling even 3/16" or 1/4"too much is better than
having to add more fill. This mixture sands like dense balsa wood. Really
goes away quick with 80 grit. Put breeze to your back and neighbors car dow
nwind (make sure your car isn't downwind!). If you are low in some areas, i
f still partial sticky, add some more. When it cures for a few hours, you c
an razor trim a bit too. Once cured, if a lot more is needed in areas, bite
bullet, wet, !
wait till real tacky and refill. Then you will need to deal with the hard
resin layer when sanding and the not too dense Expancel. Ifonly tiny inperf
ectionsand slight lowareas, I like 3M Flowable putty. For deeper areas, but
not worth it to refill with Resin and Expancel, I like lightweight Rage. R
eally dry Expancel is a really light weight fill. Ron P.
