This week another 3D printer was added; it was a portable device powered by
mercedes for a bit. Then it migrated onto a benchtop where it started printing
panel templates. It was wonderful, saved a few hundred dollars straight away by
identifying some holes that had shifted during CAD work.
The UMA manifold gauge purchased off fleabay got sent across to the other side
of the island to see if the wizard there can repair it.
Several drives out to the airfield happened but no flying; just coffee
hamburgers more coffee and some refuelling snd then some more coffee
After some draft design quality checks some more tuning of the IFR instrument
panel design was dished out; fixing up the inaccurate holes and giving the
centre section some additional refinement. Not totally sold yet on the grab
rail addition around the centre stack, but it will be useful during rough op's.
Maybe someone has a better idea...
Some more printing on the way and another trial fitting session ahead before
getting into the backend chassis mounting and electrical routing.
Thinking of adding another AV-30 for the right seat flyer; or maybe a G5...
still not decided either way...
