You don't need a special tool for checking nicopress sleeves, all you need
is a micrometer. The maximum thickness after swaging should be:
1/16-0.1908", 3/32-0.2674", 1/8-0.3532", 5/32-0.3965". Copper sleeves on
galvanized cable, zinc plated on stainless steel cable. Why does Europa
send out copper ones with stainless cable?
>In the new newsletter, which arrived today, quote " It is just as
important that the sleeve is checked with a guage after compressing " - no
mention of this in my build manual. It also says that a guage is available
---From Aircraft Spruce but i cannot find one in their catalogue. Much has
been said on the net about methods of testing sleeves, Does this said
guage provide a method of checking cables/Eyes aleady in situ and if so has
anyone got the catalogue number of AS please ?
>In the bargain offer on engines the vacuum pump drive is quoted as 230
plus vat - on the recently circulated price lists it is listed as 205 - I
wonder which is right ?
