IMPORTANT NOTE
Both the original and XS Europas have a CG range of 58=22 - 62.5=22.
The datum on the XS is in the same place relative to the wing as on the
original
aircraft.
Due to the various cowlings being fitted to the Europa for differing engines the
way for determining where the zero datum has been altered for the XS. In short,
you drop a plumb line down from each side of the levelled fuselage at the
joggle where the rear of the cowling is. This position is the same on all
Europas
regardless of engine installation. Draw a line on the floor between these
two points - this is Fuselage Station 29.25=22.
As this method is more accurate than the former one of dropping the plumb line
---From the front face of the cowling ( some may have had more filed off the
rear
edge than others ) we shall be amending the technique described in the Owners
Manual to cover all Europas.
It would be sensible for those with Subarus, Jabirus, Mid Wests etc. to conform
to this method to eliminate confusion concerning CG ranges in future.
