Hi Andrew,
Have you checked that the throttle is COMPLETELY closed (and 'choke' out)
before start?
Others, more knowledgable that I, may explain that the 'choke' isn't a
choke but has another action on the carb which means that the throttle must
be in the closed position when starting from cold.

The plane is powered by a Rotax 912 and has flown about 130 hours. We are
experiencing great difficulties in getting it started on these cold days we
have had here in southeast England. Any advise would be appreciated.
