That is the problem. When you finally come to set the incidence of the wings
you tend to find that you need to missalign the two pivot bolts making nonesense
of all your careful work. This can and does arise because it's not at all easy
to set up the spars, real or dummy, at the correct incidence, which is, (I think
(:-?) with the spar pins at right angles to the seat back. Then you have to stop
the seat back distorting when it gets Reduxed in.
If you leave out the layup that ties the two pivot bolt mounting brackets to the
fuselage side until after the wing lift pins have been installed, there is just
about enough flexibility in the brackets to realign them (with the wings in
place) then do the layup. 6 fat pop rivets through layup and bracket will stop
it peeling off.
We fitted the lift pins and did that job before the fuselage top went on.
Easier, and the plane flies beautifully.
