Being the owner of two wings I am now close to attaching my ailerons to the
wing. I did a test fit last night to see how the flaps and ailerons would
align.
My ailerons are about 5mm longer than the flange area on the underside of the
wing. The end of the aileron flange is in line with the outer face of the
outboard outrigger plate (ie the end of the flange foam block).
I have a few choices...
a) Keep the aileron the same length, overlap the flange area at the inboard
end and build up the flange to fill the gap and adjust the flap flange to
fit.
b) Keep the aileron the same length, overlap the flange area at the outboard
end and notch the tip by 5mm around the aileron.
c) Cut 5mm off the aileron at the outboard end.
The critical point in all of this is how the aileron aligns with the
bellcrank. To help me get this right would somebody be so kind as to tell me
how the inner flange face of the aileron aligns with the outer face of the
bellcrank hole.
