>The main advantage with the Europa with its mono-wheel landing gear is
that its 18" diameter allows operations from strips too soft/rough for
aircraft with smaller tyres.
The mono-wheel aircraft is also a tail dragger and requires its own take
off and landing technique to be learned. Most Europa pilots have had no or
little tail wheel flying experience prior to flying their own Europas and
have found the aircraft is ahead of them to start with. Once learned, the
aircraft proves to be very capable and a real delight.
The Tri-gear Europa handles the same as the mono-wheel aircraft in the air,
as you'd expect, but take off and landing are similar to any tri-gear
aircraft.
One advantage with the tri-gear a/c is that the aircraft can be rigged and
derigged without a trailer.
The 'proof of the pudding' would be to come and fly the aircraft to judge
for yourself.

Andy
