Hello All,

In reply to Graham C;

VH-BKR has flown 15hrs to date. Eng temps are on the lowside of the green
band each flight.
I have the left hand coolant radiator 1inch lower than the instructions
indicate, this allows a fair amount of cold air to pass through the gap at
the top. The firewall feels cold to the touch except just aft of the exhaust
bend on the rear cylinders. I think this air is also colder to the carbs.

I did not use the NACA inlets after reading how inefficient they can be.
Instead I made up my own external scoop which gives a hole in the fuselage
of approx. 4 square inches, with a slide plate which can be placed back or
forward depending where you require air.
Full open for taxi works well if the back door latch is not engaged, you
will get a blast of air up your right armpit (from fuel selector), this will
tell you to abort.

Regards,
John Baker.
