To Garry Stout
Thanks for your comments on flying in Florida, as I said in my email the
interest in open cockpit flying was purely academic definetely not a
serious proposal. With the few recent hot days in UK it makes you jealous
of motor cycles, open top sports cars and those fortunate to be able to try
out some of the beautiful sporty bi planes that are around with open
cockpits. Perhaps in the future a 'targa' top plane for hot climates may be
possible, the designer would have a captive audience, would it be possible,
but probably not. Speed being the problem and being totally unsuitable for
the UK you would freeze. If I was ever fortunate enough to have a go in an
open cockpit plane perhaps I would find out why most planes have closed
cockpits, I always though it was to stop your map blowing out
Thanks again.
