The ball should rotate freely. Hold the ball and the housing should fall
under its own weight. Early rod end fittings were of a too high spec, ie
tight. They were swopped for free fitting ones. The bolts do need to be
tight. The bolts would wear out otherwise.
With about eight of them in series in the roll circuit the accumulated
friction will be too high unless you have the right grade of rod end fitting.
