I had the same problem with mine (3 years ago) and called the company in GB.
(By then you could still ask for Ivan for technical advice).
Anyway, I was told that some of the bearings are too tight. They should - as
Graham mentions - allow the housing to drop by its own weight. If they don't
you
either need new ones or try the following:
Put a disposable bolt through the whole and tighten a nut to it so that the
ball
will rotate when the bolt is turned. Insert the bolt ending into a drill
machine and
run it with the housing held tight until the ball rotates freely. It took me
about
30 sec. each. You'll feel the ball becoming almost too hard for the drill
machine
to turn over and then suddenly it goes free-swivelling. Don't touch as the
housing
will be quite hot then !
