Assuming the rudder is restrained there is much to be said for trailering tail first. A very important aspect is trailer stability. Keeping the bulk forward and the weight aft minimises directional stability problems. Also the C of G of the aircraft should be just in front of the trailer wheels to ensure optimum hitch loading. With a forward facing aircraft this would put the wheels further forward which would encourage the tail to wag the dog even more. Nigel Charles |
