Yes simple. Even simpler with foot operated shutters - result overpowering
heat ! Even ducted cold air in there from a vent under the prop - useless,
it just got hot on the way in . All sealed off again now.
I know you have yet to complete, but have you really got cold in a Europa ?

I trapped a max/min thermometer in there and it got up to 50 deg C.
Most instruments will take it but my TFT screen wouldn't and had to have
cooling slots above and below. Do you not already have a dirty great hole in
the bottom of the passenger side to connect your engine bay plugs and sockets
?. One on each
side helops lower the termperature there too, especially if complemented by
slots in the top somewhere.
IMHO Firewall insulation is what you need (unless you are flying in the
Arctic or above 10000ft.) Helps sound level too.
Vents just below the windscreen keep cabin and crew cool.
