Yes it's the outriggers locking. If you don't here it re-cycle the gear ! I
once landed taxied to a standstill, climbed out in front of Roger from
Europa of all people , and the wingtip sagged gracefully to the ground. You
will not normally be as lucky.
He suggested that getting well below the book limiting figure of 83, even as
low as 70kts before lowering, to guard against this. The draught tries to
keep them up.
