I'm not doubting this sound *could* be the outrigger locking into place,
but I think there's an alternate explanation.

It's the collective sound of dozens of airport denizens seeing your
Europa in the pattern and smacking their (collective) forehead with the
heel of their hand whilst muttering "Why didn't I build one of those?!"
