Hi Tony,
Interesting note about tailwheel landings but I'm a bit puzzled as to why you
would have trouble keeping the airplane down as the airspeed is going to be
the same in either direction - admittedly though your ground speed landing
downwind will be a lot faster than you are probably used to seeing. Was it
gusty?
I landed downwind up in Newton - around 5 kt and didn't notice any difference
apart from a longer landing run - not that I ever pull the brake on until I'm
happy I'm tracking nice and straight. Sometimes the brake application will
start to make me wander, in which case I stop pulling so hard on the brake
and concentrate on getting back on line.
Hope you are keeping well, I have over 50 hours on N152MT now although with
ambient temps over 100 deg during the day don't get a chance to fly so often.
