I'm guessing that this is kit 474, listed as being built by Keith
Duddy in Worcestershire. He and his buddy Mark were at the PFA Rally
2000 and took some film of various Europas and the people associated
with them. (The camera crew didn't get up early enough in the morning
for the formation flypast, though!)
I suggested to them during the Rally that tapes of the series might
sell well to Europa builders, but they seemed a bit surprized by that
and didn't seem to know how to organize such a thing. Since then,
I've not heard much from them.
Kit 474 appears to have only been under build since June 2000, so
they must have worked quite briskly to get it in the air so soon (not
to mention getting all the film in the can). I'm puzzled that no
registration mark appears to have been allocated, although if the
whole series is ready for transmission, one would assume it must have
flown. Can anyone confirm these assumptions?
If no-one else does so, I will propose at the Europa Club Committee
meeting on Sat 9th Dec that we make serious efforts to get the whole
series on videotape. Obviously we've missed the first episode, but
the transmission of the whole series on 28th Dec seems the best
opportunity to capture everything. I'm sorry, I don't have
satellite/cable reception myself so can't help directly. There would
be copyright issues if we were to copy those tapes and make them
available to others, but perhaps we should start to worry about that
AFTER we're sure we have got the material!
