You could look at a sony vaio C1VE, It is a full size machine with a palmtop
size foot print.
128Mb ram, 12Gb disk and supplied with windows ME.
Its not big enough to incorporate an internal cdrom, and the screen is like
a full size screen thats been divided by 2 horizontally thus giving a
widescreen effect, while being able to view a document.
Linux kernels are available for vaio's with full device support, so thus can
be more reliable and configurable...
as you guessed I've been looking into this already!!

Subject: Hardware problem
Sorry to clutter the forum with this, but I am in a dead panic.
All three ports on my airborne laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook, which drives the
cockpit display), have stopped receiving.
COM1 is the normal rear Canon socket, COM3 and 4 use a converter in the
PCMCIA socket and have worked fine for a year or more..
All report normal via Device Manager, ie."working properly", "no conflicts".
Baud rates are unchanged etc. Surely they don't multiplexe through a single
UART !?
Ideas welcome, (except 'buy another laptop'). Incidentally does no-one
produce a palmtop which runs normal Windows !
