About the only downside I am aware of associated with using silicone fluid is
that it compresses slightly more than 'the awful red stuff'.  Personally, I 
think
it is a minor price to pay.  I have used 'DOT 5' silicone fluid in sports cars
in
the past, knowing that it will compress more.
