Just an FYI and thanks: I made a template from some heavy cardstock and
hotglued
it to the wing where I wanted the panel. I then got the "multi-purpose" router
base for the Dremel (not the one with the handles - too big) and the smallest
engraving cutter I could find - which was about .040 diameter x .186 long
for the cutting portion. It's TINY.
The template was rectangular with square corners to give me the radius I wanted
for the panel corners as the router base went around the corner. It worked just
great! Now there's just enough kerf to get a layer of bid over the edges
to give some strength to that foam core stuff the wing skin is made of.
Between that and cutting and shaping the holes for the strobe units in the wing
tips, I made a day of it. Turned out nice. Tomorrow I'll lay in the glass.
Beautiful spring day here, 75 deg. F and sunny. Got both cars washed and waxed
and let the dogs romp on the lawn.
Thanks again!
