Oshkosh accomodation

Hi all
My wife and I are trying to get to Oshkosh this year and we are having some 
problems
getting accomodation within a reasonable driving distance for the daily
commute. Is there anyone out there ( in the States ) with a bit of local 
knowledge
who can point us in the right direction i.e. local hotels, information centres
with B & B's on their books etc.
A reply off  forum would probably be best to save clutter.
