I too am facinated by electronics but personally don't think these
things are generally justified in an aircraft like the Europa.<
I think the cases of lost doors and now collapsing outriggers speak for
themselves. I agree if the aircraft is perfectly rigged and stays that way
none of this should happen. Against what I thought I have already managed
to close the door with the rear shoot bolt outside. Had I not had
microswitches I could have easily missed this and lost a door in flight.
The fact that we have just found a cause for outriggers failing to lock
properly shows that warning of this could prevent further incidents.
Knowledge of a problem is half the battle. Trying to cope with virtually no
warning can be virtually impossible.
