Hi Rowland,
I just did my close out last week on the first tailplane.
The first thing I did was convert to inches as needed....just kidding.
I have found that because of cutting the glass on a 45 degree angle
it is generally hard to get two pieces from the same cut, so all my pieces
tend to be long. But you are correct. The piece for the rear face of the
closeout
did not leave a lot to spare, but the piece for the root rib was much too
long.
I just checked the book and the rear piece is too short. I was lucky that I
cut
it too long. I agree, if the dimensions in the book are wrong they should be
corrected. I'll be and s-n-f so I will mention it to the Europa folks.
As an added note, from the start of laying out the tools and glass (already
cut) to completing the cleanup took me about 5 hours.
Now the next job is trimming the bottom edge so the trim tab moves
without interference.
