I think it is worth having having a ' wheel down and locked ' light to be on all the time the gear is locked. There seem to have been several accidents attributed to the gear lever lock not being in place. To sense that the lock is in place I have used a magnetic proximity switch with a small magnet (both ---From RS) in the lower of the two bolts of the latch. Very simple and doesn't alter the mechanics of the original design at all. Roddy Kesterton |
