I have had the same thing with mine. The servo "chatters" after about 1 second of operation and the unit seemed tight at first. The servo doesn't seem to be straining at all. It has been run quite a bit so far with no problems. I think the key is what Andy wrote - the measured force to overcome the friction. That will determine the final adjustment of the nylock nut.
