Sure,
It was designed to make finishing the Classic easier. The sternpost was
laid up by hand and was an awkward because the cloth tended to fall off
when you were'nt looking. (because of the aft slope) Eventually Europa
produced the XS which has a sternpost and a few other improvements.
The Classic is a great airplane but it is always possible to improve on any
design with the benefit of hindsight.
