Dear Leather Boot Purchaser,
A recent incident occurred here in New Zealand, on a Monowheel XS Rotax 914,
when a stone got lodged under the control
universal on take off jamming the controls. The aircraft was jammed in a left
turn, so the pilot aborted the take off and
successfully landed the aircraft in an adjacent field. However on the roll out
the aircraft struck a cow causing substantial damage.
The aircraft has the Leather Control Column Boots, however the underside of the
boot was not held securely by velcro..
PLEASE MAKE SURE THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LEATHER BOOT
IS SECURED BY VELCRO TO THE CSO4 OR FLOOR.
All the best
Tim Ward
