I once saw a big C blow on a 912. It was caused by a wrong connection to
the regulator if my memory hasn't failed me. It also wrecked the regulator.
Have a careful check of the wiring diagram , AND the labelling on the
regulator itself. Wasn't there a mistake there in the early days?
