No better solution that I know of.

Just to emphasise this is a very real problem. The water gets in the wing
and ends up in the leading edge. From here it is difficult to get it out.
On Karl Heindl's XS (#392 C-FIRS) we tried all sorts of tricks to get it
out. Eventually we had to stand the wing vertically (tip up) and remove the
front lift pin. This produced at least two gallons of water.

It is quite easy not to notice a 20lb weight change in a wing as you
normally never lift the full weight but are manoeuvring it from one end.
The last thing I personally want is to find one wing 20lbs heavy as you
start to rotate.

I understand that there is a danger of getting water inside the wings ---

I was considering making a couple of canvas 'envelopes'-----

Anyone got any better solutions?
