Approved aircraft should last a long time, but for maintenance when
under FAA rules, the recommendation is replacement at 5 years. FAA says
also that in removing Teflon hose during maintenance, do not bend them
as Teflon takes a set. Thus one advantage of automotive fuel hose is
the ease/cost of replacement during maintenance. Removal from barbed
fittings eventually gets tough anyway, so partially slice through the
hose end and toss it in the trash. Fresh rubber, renewed seal at a hose
clamp fitting. Maybe all things considered it kind of all nets out?
Best,
